The Sahel region of Ethiopia is a critical area facing significant environmental challenges exacerbated by climate change. A mixed-method survey approach was employed, combining quantitative data from a structured questionnaire with qualitative insights from focus group discussions to assess perceptions of climate change impacts on human security. Survey respondents reported that the frequency of droughts has increased by 20% over the past decade, leading to significant reductions in agricultural yields and livestock productivity. Climate change is profoundly affecting human security in the Sahel, with notable declines in food availability and livelihood stability among surveyed communities. Enhanced climate monitoring and early warning systems are recommended alongside targeted interventions to support affected populations, particularly smallholder farmers and pastoralists.
