This case study summarizes the speculative sound circuit workshop that took place in Limassol in September 2024 and provides an overview of its outcomes. During two intensive days, a mixed-gender group of more than 30 students engaged in the making of several prototype sound-generating "speculative" circuits and employing materials such as nails, pieces of wood, a programmable microprocessor, and various types of electronic components. The workshop has been facilitated by Dr John Richards (also known under the artistic monicker Dirty Electronics) and has been based on his "Radical Nails" prototype design as well as drawing from broader do-it-together and do-it-yourself contexts. Technical and aesthetic considerations are outlined in this report.
