Exercise is increasingly recognised as a safe and effective component of multiple sclerosis care, yet many people with multiple sclerosis remain inactive. This article explores the role of physical activity in improving health outcomes and quality of life, and the opportunity for MS nurses and the wider multidisciplinary team to support people to become more active. Drawing on current guidelines and behaviour-change principles, it highlights practical ways clinicians can encourage activity, build confidence and address barriers to participation. The Neuro Heroes model is presented as an example of how accessible, community-based exercise programmes can help people with MS engage in sustainable physical activity.
