I teach lectures related to mechanical elements at the university. I am always thinking about having a place to exchange opinions on the current state and future state of mechanical element education in higher educational institutions. The content I teach is based on the content of the lectures I received as a student. The time available for mechanical element education at universities is decreasing year by year, and the topics that can be conveyed to students are inevitably limited. On the other hand, companies that accept graduates must have educational content that they require from higher educational institutions such as universities. We are always aware of the need to respond to the demands of companies. Therefore, five people from universities, technical colleges, and companies will provide topics from their respective positions and exchange opinions. I will provide a topic on the current state of education at Yamagata University from the perspective of mechanical element education at a local national university. I will mainly introduce the content of the lecture on design engineering.
