This report introduces the educational content related to machine elements studies at the Tokyo Metropolitan College of Industrial Technology. The days when engineering was represented by mechanical, electrical and chemical fields are long gone, and nowadays, in addition to the fields of electronics and control, the information field has become more important. At our schools, which mainly offer combined courses in which students study a wide range of fields, the number of fields to be covered is increasing year by year. However, the five-year study period remains the same, so if the number of fields to be covered is increased, the existing fields have to be reduced. Thus, the time available for studying machine elements is decreasing. Therefore, it is important for teachers to be able to introduce students to as much of the contents of machine elements studies as possible in a small amount of time. In this presentation, some of the ideas which teachers are using are introduced.
