Artificial Intelligence (AI) is poised to revolutionize project-oriented organizations by driving innovation and increasing operational efficiency. Although there is substantial research in areas like automation and predictive analytics, AI’s specific application in project management is less developed. This literature review examines AI’s potential to enhance project management practices, focusing on efficiency and resource optimization. It identifies significant research gaps, particularly in implementation strategies, challenges, and the long-term benefits of AI implementation. Key findings highlight AI’s transformative role, reshaping human-technology collaboration and decision-making processes. This research underscores the necessity for strategic AI integration, addressing cultural shifts and workflow adaptations, and stresses the importance of developing expertise through employee training. By offering insights and identifying unresolved questions, this review seeks to guide future research and practical approaches in applying AI in project management
