ABSTRACT Digital dentistry is reshaping the dental field by incorporating cutting-edge technologies that enhance patient care. This modern approach includes innovations such as computer-aided design and manufacturing (CAD/CAM), three-dimensional (3D) printing, artificial intelligence (AI), augmented reality (AR), intraoral scanning, and teledentistry. Together, these tools allow for more accurate, efficient, and personalized dental treatments. This review examines the evolution of digital dentistry, highlighting developments in imaging, CAD/CAM, 3D printing, and regenerative dentistry, among other areas. It also explores the current and emerging applications of AI, AR, and teledentistry. By leveraging these technologies, dental professionals can provide more precise diagnoses and tailor treatment plans to individual patients. Beyond improving treatment outcomes, digital dentistry streamlines clinical workflows, reduces chair time, and enhances patient satisfaction. However, adopting these innovations comes with challenges, including the need for ongoing training and the integration of appropriate infrastructure. Keeping up with technological advancements and ensuring proper implementation will be essential for maximizing the benefits of digital dentistry in modern oral health care.
