The aim is to explore methods for visualizing valence-bond functions of hydrogen in comparison to molecular orbital theory.
Develop visualization schemes for valence-bond functions.
Discuss the appeal of molecular orbital theory in relation to visual representation.
Introduces new ways to visualize valence-bond functions.
Highlights the contrast between valence-bond and molecular orbital theories in a visual context.
Abstract
Because the dominance of molecular orbital theory is at least partially due to its visually appealing nature, schemes for drawing and visualizing valence-bond functions are presented and discussed.
