This project was undertaken in order to enhance the high school chemistry curriculum while complying with the new performance standards for the science curriculum in the state of Georgia. One unique aspect of this project is the development of an attention-grabbing storyline, which increases the student’s interest and therefore leads to better understanding and recall of chemical principles. The chemical concepts presented in this work include acid–base indicators, diffusion, kinetics, equilibrium, precipitation, and redox chemistry. A teacher-friendly handout was also prepared detailing the materials and steps necessary to complete the demonstration, as well as giving the story to accompany the presentation.
