The review analyzes the publication of the Hungarian diary by the famous Soviet historian A.L. Sidorov, who was in Budapest in 1956 and witnessed the uprising firsthand. The publication was undertaken by renowned historians V.S. Gruzdinskaya and A.S. Styklin. The conclusion is made about the great value of the published source and the high level of its publication.
