The objective of this research is to examine the correlation between perfectionism and procrastination. This will be conducted with the aim of establishing the connection between perfectionism and procrastination among young working employees. The participants consisted of 270 young working employees who were between 19-26 years of age (female 181, male 89). The participants encompassed from different educational levels and organizational sectors, various family type. The two measures used for collection of data for the study include the general procrastination scale (Lodha et al,2016) and the frost multidimentional perfectionism scale (stober.j., 1998). The data was collected by a purposive sampling method directly. It was analysed by descriptive (mean, standard deviation) and inferential (pearson’s correlation statistics using the SPSS (statistical package for social sciences) and the results thus obtained have been discussed. The result shows that there is significant relationship was observed between perfectionism and procrastination among young working employees. Even though the relationship is weak, the direction of the correlation is significant as it indicates that perfectionism can be contributor of procrastination instead of a depreciator. This observation can be explained in the context of maladaptive perfectionism, whereby individuals pose too high and sometimes unrealistic expectations on themselves and this results in increased fear of failure, self-doubt, and over-evaluation of self.
