In the Synoptic Gospels the Gospel of Luke contains the largest amount of material unique to itself, even though Luke mainly follows Matthew's Gospel and occasionally Mark's Gospel.Regarding the relationship between Jesus of Nazareth and John the Baptist, Luke includes some accounts that are absent from the Gospel of Matthew and the Gospel of Mark, which gives particular importance to Luke's account. In this second part of the study of Luke's presentation of the relationship between the two candidates for the title of Messiah we present five accounts found in his Gospel (Lk 9: 7-9-Herod's reaction to Jesus; Lk 9: 18-21-Peter's confession; Lk 11: 1-4-Jesus' prayer; Lk 16: 14-17-"until the time of John"; Lk 20: 1-8-the question about authority).
