This deliverable presents a set of public-facing “think pieces” that synthesise key outcomes of the NATURANCE project for policymakers, insurers, investors, and finance professionals. Developed under Work Package 2, the deliverable translates research and Innovation Lab insights into practical guidance on how nature-based solutions (NbS) can be better integrated into risk transfer, investment, and advisory frameworks. The deliverable consists of four concise briefs (in undesigned form) and several complementary insight pieces. The briefs address: (i) lessons from the NATURANCE Innovation Labs on NbS in risk transfer, (ii) pathways to scale investment in NbS, (iii) methods to assess and monetise NbS co- benefits, and (iv) improved flood risk assessment that explicitly incorporates NbS into catastrophe models. The briefs will be available in their designed form on the NATURANCE website. Overall, this deliverable demonstrates how NbS can reduce physical climate risks while enhancingthe effectiveness and sustainability of insurance and finance solutions, alongside delivering biodiversity and social co-benefits. It identifies key barriers to wider uptake - such as data gaps, limited standardisation, and challenges in pricing risk and benefits - while highlighting enablers including innovative risk transfer mechanisms, improved analytical tools, blended finance, and multi-stakeholder collaboration.
