During the COVID-19 pandemic, Jordan reported 14,122 related deaths to the World Health Organization by November 2022, with a concerning proportion of infections occurring within hospital environments. This situation highlights the urgent need to address airborne infection risks, particularly in nursing units of inpatient hospital buildings where vulnerable populations and healthcare workers are highly exposed. In addition to direct health impacts, widespread fear of contracting COVID-19 has discouraged hospital visitation, further straining an already burdened healthcare system. This study emphasizes the importance of strengthening airborne infection control measures in hospitals through improved ventilation, effective air management strategies, and evidence-based infection prevention practices. Focusing on these controls is essential to reducing nosocomial transmission, restoring public confidence, and enhancing the resilience of healthcare facilities against current and future airborne disease outbreaks
