Agriculture is the backbone of India’s economy and a major source of livelihood for a large population. In a country with a population of around 1.5 billion, farmers work tirelessly to meet the food and other needs of the people. However, the lives of farmers remain uncertain.Climate change, market instability, crop failures, and rising production costs have become major challenges. These issues often push farmers into debt, and in some cases, lead them to take extreme steps such as suicide. In this context, the present research attempts to understand farmers, their problems, and challenges from a sociological perspective.
