Against the backdrop of the rapid development of artificial intelligence (AI) technologies and their deep integration into all sectors of society, the production and dissemination of culture are undergoing a profound transformation, presenting new risks and complex tasks for national cultural security in many aspects, such as ideology and cultural sovereignty, especially in developing countries. This research paper focuses on the cultural security of China in the era of artificial intelligence. Within the theoretical framework of the general concept of national security, the mechanisms of AI technologies' impact on China's cultural security are systematically examined, emphasizing four key dimensions: the security of cultural sovereignty, the security of cultural ideology, the security of cultural identity, and the security of cultural diversity. The study employs a combination of literature review and case analysis. Based on existing research findings, it analyzes the risks of information narrowing and algorithmic bias, the digital divide and cultural hegemony, cyber violence and cultural disorder, as well as the digitization of cultural heritage by combining the operational logic of AI with real examples. The innovation of this work lies in moving away from the previous approach of analyzing individual risks, focusing instead on identifying interactions and the systemic impact of various risks to cultural security, and proposing ways for coordinated responses at national, social, and international levels. The study asserts that while AI contributes to cultural development, it can also exacerbate cultural biases, undermine cultural diversity, and disrupt the governance of culture. To address these issues, coordinated efforts are needed at three levels: national leadership, social cooperation, and international collaboration. At the domestic level, it is essential to strengthen political guidance, regulate algorithms and media operations, and enhance the media literacy of the population. At the international level, cooperation frameworks such as the "Digital Silk Road" can be used to promote the establishment of an open, inclusive, secure, and trustworthy AI governance ecosystem. Only in this way can the foundation of cultural security be strengthened amid technological changes and promote the healthy development of Chinese culture in the digital age.
