Abstract BACKGROUND: Ayurveda conceptualizes all matter through Panchamahabhuta - Prithvi, Aap, Teja, Vayu and Akasha , which define both physical structure and functional behavior of substances. OBJECTIVE: To propose an integrative methodology for determining Panchamahabhuta predominance in new or emerging entities using classical Ayurvedic principles alongside modern analytical tools. MATERIALS AND METHODS: The study integrates organoleptic evaluation with physicochemical and spectroscopic analyses including DSC, TGA, GC–MS, XRD and SEM to assess elemental predominance. RESULTS: Conceptual correlations between classical Ayurvedic attributes and modern measurable parameters were identified. Case examples demonstrated that elemental dominance can be systematically aligned with physicochemical characteristics. CONCLUSION: The proposed framework supports the scientific integration of Panchamahabhuta theory into contemporary research and may aid pharmacognostic classification, formulation design and integrative material science applications.
