Abstract

This lecture examines dwelling as a unifying framework to address contemporary housing challenges, with an emphasis on sustainability. It draws on the EU-funded projects A-Place (2019–2023) and RE-DWELL (2020–2024), which explore place-making, belonging, and affordable housing through collaborative and transdisciplinary approaches. Building on 25 years of work at La Salle School of Architecture, the lecture highlights strategies to overcome boundaries between disciplines, academia and practice, analog and digital methods, and teaching and research.
