The translation of futuristic concepts in science fiction literature presents unique linguistic, cognitive, and cultural challenges. Futuristic terminology, speculative technology, and invented societal systems often have no direct equivalents in the target language, requiring translators to employ creative strategies. This article explores the primary challenges faced when translating futuristic concepts, examining lexical innovation, semantic ambiguity, and cultural mediation. Drawing on case studies from renowned science fiction works, the study highlights practical strategies for preserving narrative coherence, conceptual fidelity, and reader engagement. The findings underscore the importance of combining linguistic expertise with cultural and technological awareness to produce translations that are both accurate and accessible.
