A 7% archaeological evaluation and watching brief was carried out on land at Drum Farm, Drumnadrochit, in advance of the construction of a new housing development with associated infrastructure. The evaluation was required as part of a planning requirement. Evaluation trenching took between 11th - 26th July 2022. A total of 27 trenches equating to 1,550 linear metres of trenching was achieved. Some c.45 pit features were encountered across the entirety of the development area in distinct clusters. They showed clear signs of domestic and industrial activity with prehistoric ceramic and metalworking evidence recovered. Further works will be required, most likely in the form of a strip, map and sample exercise.
