An archaeological watching brief was required during ground breaking works along a new section of access route (c. 450m long and 5m wide) and at the location of a telecoms mast (c. 10m x 10m). One archaeological feature was identified: a clearance cairn, likely prehistoric in date, which is part of the agricultural field system associated with the hut circles on Cnoc Alasdair.
Callum Murray (Sun,) studied this question.
