This article presents the development of gland seals for high-performance pipeline valve spindles, pumps, and moving and fixed joints in machines. The paper also presents the results of optimizing the hydrophobization technology of graphite packing rings with fluorinated surfactants. Based on the results of these studies, a gland seal design was developed that allows for an increase in operating temperature to 400°C and a reduction in the coefficient of friction in moving joints.
