Two small trial trenches were excavated on a site previously developed in the late 20th century, to assess its potential for archaeological remains. No archaeology was found other than a soakaway and salt-glazed ceramic drain pipe in the southern of the two trenches. These were obviously modern. The natural (drift) geology of sand and gravel was exposed in both trenches.
