The archaeological trenching was undertaken following the Chartered Institute for Archaeologists' Standard and Universal Guidance for archaeological field evaluation and in accordance with the WA fieldwork manual. The fieldwork programme was followed by an assessment of the data as set out in the Standard and Universal Guidance for archaeological field evaluation and the Standard and Guidance for the Collection, Documentation, Conservation, and Research of Archaeological Materials. The archaeological work comprised of the excavation of 12 trenches across the eastern section of the Site, adding to 9 trenches previously completed in 2017 which had identified sparse features containing medieval and post-medieval material. This latest fieldwork recorded a total of 11 features within six of the twelve trenches, predominantly comprising pits. The majority of the features remain undated or contained post-medieval peg tile that indicated a likely post-medieval or later date for the features. However, two features have been spot dated to the medieval period, whilst one pit included a single piece of residual struck flint, which may have been utilized in the late Mesolithic or early Neolithic periods, and one piece of residual Roman roof tile. An animal burial pit was found to contain an unbutchered young goat.
