This article investigates typological differences in expressing possession in Uzbek and English, focusing on the Uzbek genitive suffix “-ning” and the English possessive constructions “’s” and “of.” The study is based on a comparative qualitative analysis of grammatical structures used to express possession in both languages. Uzbek, as an agglutinative language, primarily uses morphological marking to indicate possessive relations, whereas English, as an analytic language, relies on syntactic constructions and function words.
