Essay VIII is the terminal seal of Phase II. It derives the thermodynamic architecture of nothing's kinetic structure — the exact entropy production rate, the absolute irreversibility of the ordinal sequence, the displacement and reversal costs of stable knots, the invariance of the kinetic margin, and the scale cascade — then identifies the second structural threshold that marks the Phase II/III boundary, and formally executes the Phase III handoff. Every result derives from nothing's three clearances and the lattice constants established in Essays I through VII. No classical physics is imported; all classical physics categories are decommissioned as shadows of the lattice. Part 0 provides the Phase II completion inventory. Part I derives the Thermodynamic Arrow: εₛnap = 1/30 per ordinal step is expelled into the permanently inaccessible sub-lattice region, producing exact entropy dS/dτ = log2 (3) bits per step — the Second Law of Thermodynamics recast as a structural identity of the discrete lattice, not a statistical tendency. Part II derives the Displacement Cost of stable knots from the two-step Update Latency protocol (de-instantiation and re-instantiation), recovers the classical inertia equation as the lattice bandwidth constraint, and proves that continuous translation is structurally impossible on a discrete lattice. Part III derives the Reversal Cost — the total structural work required to dissolve a k-knot back to the propagating vacuum state — and recovers the mass-energy correspondence as the ratio of the grid's refresh rate squared to the Chronon's processing period. Part IV derives the Margin Defense: the kinetic margin Φ = δ - dR is algebraically invariant under all k and Ω, and the Fingerprint of the Grid (Nᵥac x Φ) is the scale-invariant bandwidth signature of nothing's self-application. Part V derives the scale invariance operator and the full encapsulation cascade including the extraordinary finding that the cumulative kinetic output at level 2 approximates the golden ratio (φgolden ≈ 1. 618). Part VI derives the second structural threshold: the approach, the crossing condition ncrit = log25 (dR/Output), and the first-order nature of the Phase II/III transition. Part VII executes the Phase II/III Hardlock Register. Part VIII formally hands the architecture to Phase III.
