The current study aimed to know the level of teaching practices in the field of Islamic education that support the development of future skills, according to the human’s capabilities development program from the perception of male and female teachers of Islamic education in the secondary stage and their supervisors. The study followed the descriptive survey approach, and its population was represented by male and female teachers of Islamic education at the secondary stage, who were (714) male and female teachers in Bisha Province, and their supervisors, who were (27) male and female supervisors of Islamic education. The sample was selected by a simple random method, and the researcher adopted the questionnaire as a tool for collecting data after confirming its psychometric properties. After it was processed statistically, the results revealed that most of the teaching practices of male and female Islamic education teachers support the development of future skills in the field of social and emotional skills and the field of physical and practical skills. While the results indicated that the teaching practices of Islamic education teachers sometimes take into account the development of future skills related to the higher thinking skills, and this level is educationally unacceptable. The results also showed that no differences between the responses of the study sample due to the variables of gender and nature of work. The study recommended the necessity to motivate Islamic education teachers to the teaching practices that develop the higher thinking skills by giving them additional points in the comparisons. In addition to stipulate these practices to obtain a high rating in the job performance.
