Despite the challenging political and socioeconomic circumstances of the early years of Soviet power, the Academy of Sciences developed initiatives to restore lost contacts with foreign scientists and scientific organizations and further develop them. Personal contacts between Soviet scientists and foreign researchers were reestablished; trips abroad were organized to familiarize them with cutting-edge scientific achievements and deliver lectures. Leading Soviet scientists participated in international scientific congresses to showcase the achievements of Soviet science. Furthermore, book exchanges, the acquisition of cutting-edge laboratory equipment, and other initiatives were actively pursued. Between 1918 and 1925, the Academy not only restored and expanded the states scientific resources but also played a key role in re-establishing international contacts, eliminating political isolation, and shaping a favorable image of Soviet science in the eyes of the international community. This period provided a solid foundation for the future development of international scientific cooperation.
