The archaeological monitoring and recording comprised the monitoring of the excavation for strip footings to the side of the property. A plan of the monitored area is shown on figure 2 of the report. All work was carried out according to the Chartered Institute for Archaeologists (CIfA) standards, and according to the agreed Written Scheme of Investigation. A digital colour photographic record was maintained, some of which is reproduced in the report as plates 1 - 5, Appendix 1. The fieldwork was undertaken by Michael Blake. The watching brief revealed the site had been levelled for parking approximately two years previously, truncating the natural (101) down by approximately 0.4m to the north of the site. To the south, this was overlain by what appears to be a brought in soil levelling layer (102) as the horizon was extremely clear and contained no subsoil. No archaeological features or finds were present.
