General ground reduction, Strip foundations and a soakaway were all excavated by machine in 10cm level spits under continuous archaeological supervision The archaeological watching brief revealed a simple stratigraphy of topsoil overlying a subsoil which in turn sealed an alluvial deposit. Chalk bedrock was observed underlying the alluvial at the northern edge of the site. Only one modern feature was present within the site, a rubbish pit.
