The escalating demand for potable water and the global energy crisis necessitate sustainable, cost-effective solutions for water purification. This paper presents the development of a solar-powered desalination system designed to convert saline or impure water into fresh water using renewable energy. The system utilizes a 20W photovoltaic panel to power active components, including submersible pumps for water circulation. By leveraging natural evaporation and condensation processes, the design incorporates a black-coated acrylic sheet and a glass-protected heating chamber to maximize thermal efficiency. Experimental observations indicate that the system provides a viable small scale desalination method suitable for remote and water-scarce regions where traditional energy-intensive methods are impractical.
