This paper offers a computational operationalisation of heteroglossia in the theatre. It evaluates multilingualism in early modern drama by automatically detecting the languages spoken by 33,250 speakers from 2501 early modern plays written in 6 languages: French, English, German, Spanish, Dutch and Italian.
