Abstract Small Scale Enterprises (SSEs) are vital contributors to economic development through employment generation, innovation promotion, and enhancement of national productivity and GDP growth. Despite their significant economic role, these enterprises encounter various operational, financial, technological, and managerial challenges that hinder their growth and long-term sustainability. This study aims to examine the key challenges faced by small-scale enterprises and to identify effective strategies that support improved organizational performance and sustainable development. The research follows a descriptive and analytical approach, utilizing secondary data obtained from academic journals, research publications, and institutional reports. The findings reveal that financial limitations, shortage of skilled human resources, technological constraints, and intense market competition represent the primary barriers to enterprise success. Conversely, strategic planning, adoption of modern technology, business networking, and effective utilization of government support initiatives emerge as critical strategies for enhancing competitiveness and ensuring long-term survival.
