Dr. Bhavatej Enganti is a senior Consultant Urologist and an internationally recognized expert in Reconstructive Urology and Andrology, with a focused interest in lower genitourinary tract reconstruction. He currently serves as the Director of Reconstructive Urology and Men’s Health at the Asian Institute of Nephrology and Urology (AINU), Hyderabad, India, where he has been associated since 2016. During this period, he has played a pivotal role in developing one of the busiest and most comprehensive reconstructive urology programs in the region. Dr. Enganti leads a high-volume tertiary referral service, performing more than 250 urethral and genital reconstructive procedures annually, with extensive experience in managing complex and referral-level cases. His clinical expertise encompasses complex anterior urethral strictures, fossa navicularis and meatal stenosis, lichen sclerosus–associated urethral disease, post-transurethral resection of the prostate and iatrogenic strictures, female urethral reconstruction, and genital reconstructive surgery. His surgical philosophy emphasizes durable outcomes, tissue preservation, anatomical restoration, cosmesis, and patient-reported functional outcomes, reflecting contemporary reconstructive principles. Academically, Dr. Enganti is deeply committed to teaching and research. He serves as the DNB program and research coordinator at AINU and is actively involved in resident education, curriculum development, and mentorship of young urologists with a special interest in reconstructive surgery. He has coordinated and contributed to multiple multicentre collaborative research initiatives and clinical trials, particularly focused on urethral stricture disease, surgical outcomes, and technique refinement. Dr. Enganti has an extensive academic portfolio, with numerous peer-reviewed publications, book chapters, and original contributions in the field of reconstructive urology. His work on meatal and fossa navicularis strictures, including contemporary graft-based and graft-sparing techniques, has contributed meaningfully to advancing the understanding and management of distal urethral disease. He is the recipient of over 30 academic awards, including best paper and best video recognitions at national and international platforms. A sought-after speaker and operating faculty, Dr. Enganti has delivered invited lectures, live surgical demonstrations, and symposium talks across India and internationally, including major scientific forums and dedicated reconstructive urology meetings.
