This study investigates the possibilities of increasing the efficiency of information systems in Uzbekistan’s tourism sector through the application of PIMS analysis. In the context of globalization and rapid digital transformation, tourism is increasingly evolving into a data-driven industry where the quality, integration, and analytical capacity of information systems determine overall performance and competitiveness. The research employs a systematic analytical approach to examine global and national trends, identify key factors influencing the efficiency of tourism information systems, and evaluate existing challenges in Uzbekistan. The findings indicate that Uzbekistan has achieved significant progress in tourism development, including rapid growth in tourist arrivals, expansion of tourism infrastructure, and the implementation of digital tools such as e-visa systems and unified tourism platforms. These developments have positively contributed to improving accessibility, service delivery, and market expansion. However, the study also reveals critical constraints, including fragmented information systems, limited analytical capabilities, uneven digital infrastructure, and insufficient coordination among stakeholders. The application of PIMS analysis demonstrates that while external growth factors strongly support the sector, internal system limitations reduce the efficiency of information utilization and decision-making processes. The study concludes that improving the efficiency of tourism information systems requires a comprehensive strategy focused on system integration, advanced data analytics, digital infrastructure development, human capital enhancement, and institutional coordination. The research contributes to the theoretical understanding of tourism digitalization and provides practical recommendations for strengthening the economic efficiency and global competitiveness of Uzbekistan’s tourism sector.
