The increasing use of digital technologies has brought significant changes to the teaching– learning process in colleges. Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs) and Open Educational Resources (OER) are two important developments that promote open access to quality education. MOOCs provide structured online courses to large numbers of learners, while OER consist of freely available and openly licensed learning materials that can be reused, modified, and redistributed. This research paper examines the role of MOOCs and OER in transforming college education by improving accessibility, affordability, teaching practices, and skill development. It discusses their historical background, pedagogical relevance, impact on students and teachers, challenges in implementation, and future potential. The study highlights that when effectively integrated with classroom teaching, MOOCs and OER can significantly enhance learning outcomes and support inclusive and flexible college education systems.
