Abstract: Present conversation would focus on few severe forms of violence against women. The discussion is central to Indian society. Few forms of crime like dowry death, honour killing and acid attack on women have been considered for the discussion. Further, within this gamut of domestic violence, rape, marital rapes, gendercide in few forms are included in the present discourse. A feminist interpretation on violence examining various broader spectrums of violence and crime against women would be the major thrust of the paper. Underpinning structural discrepancy for gender issues that result in violence would be the moot contention of present debate across all creed, community, class or age factors.
