Objective: Medical specialty theses are not only an educational requirement but also valuable scientific studies that contribute to the literature when published. This study aimed to determine the publication rates of dermatology theses and the factors influencing this process.Materials and Methods: Dermatology theses registered in the National Thesis Center between 2018 and 2022 were reviewed. These were classified according to title, subject, year, author and supervisor information, institution type, and research method. Publication status was determined by searching PubMed, Google Scholar, Web of Science (WoS), Scopus, and TR Index. For published articles, journal index coverage, impact factor, CiteScore, citation count, publication time, and supervisors’ h-index were recorded.Results: The study included 321 dermatology theses, and 120 of these (37.4%) were converted into publications. Among them, 94 (78.3%) appeared in SCI/SCI-Expanded indexed journals. The median time to publication was 2 years (IQR: 2–3), the median citation count was 2 (IQR: 0–6), CiteScore 4.1 (IQR: 1.8–5.1), and impact factor 2.3 (IQR: 1.6–3.1).
