This project presents a decentralized system for managing digital inheritance using blockchain technology and smart contracts. With the increasing reliance on digital platforms, individuals now own valuable assets such as cryptocurrencies, cloud storage data, NFTs, and online accounts. However, existing inheritance methods are not well suited for handling these digital assets, often leading to loss of access or security risks. The proposed system introduces a secure and automated solution that enables users to store and manage their digital assets while assigning designated beneficiaries. A Dead Man’s Switch mechanism is implemented, requiring users to periodically confirm their activity. In the absence of activity, the system automatically triggers the inheritance process through smart contracts. The system ensures confidentiality by encrypting sensitive data and utilizes decentralized storage to enhance availability and reliability. Blockchain technology guarantees transparency, immutability, and trustless execution without relying on centralized authorities. The results demonstrate that the system is capable of securely transferring digital assets under predefined conditions while maintaining data integrity and user privacy. This project contributes to addressing the growing challenge of digital inheritance by providing a practical and scalable solution.
