Introduction: A healthcare team is a group of professionals from different professions who are connected by common work, goal and responsibility. Some of the most important factors that affect the effectiveness of teamwork are: team size, roles in the team, stages of team development, cohesiveness and good communication. The effectiveness of teamwork has a significant impact on patient satisfaction with the services provided. The aim of this study was to determine whether patient satisfaction with the services provided is influenced by synergy in the team, work experience, level of education and effective communication. Material and methods: The study included 140 subjects of male and female sex and different age structures. Half of it, i.e. 70 respondents were hospitalized patients from the internal and surgical departments who filled out a questionnaire about satisfaction with the services provided during hospital treatment. The other half of the respondents were health workers, nurses and doctors, as well as team members from the surgical and internal medicine departments working at the University Hospital Foci, who filled out a questionnaire on the effectiveness of teamwork. Statistical data processing included methods of descriptive and analytical statistics, and statistical significance was determined at the level of p 0.05. Results: There is a statistically significant difference between the surgical (21.30 ± 4.17) and internal medicine (18.95 ± 4.67) departments compared to the average values of the score that assessed patient satisfaction (t=2.179, df=68, p=0.033). Based on the results obtained, it can be observed that communication in the team affects patient satisfaction p≤0.001. A statistically significant difference was observed in the average values of the score that assesses the synergy in the team between the teams from the surgical (43.3±6.8) and internal medicine (38.6±6.2) departments, where we can see that the synergy was better in the team in the surgical department. (t=3.018, df=68, p=0.004). Conclusion: Assessing patient satisfaction can provide valuable and unique insights about daily healthcare and quality. Patients are more satisfied with health care staff who have higher education, while work experience does not significantly affect patient satisfaction. The most important component of their satisfaction is effective communication.
