Pragmatism is an American philosophy which represents the American way of life and thinking. Charles Pierce gave the idea of Pragmatic school of philosophy and he attacked idealism and redefined truth and knowledge in terms of experience and their practical consequences. Pragmatism is regarded as activity, engagement and encounter and laid stress that action is supreme and thought is the inspiring power. It stands between idealism and naturalism. Pragmatic school assesses the ideas, theories and beliefs on their practical results, utility and working condition in real life connections. The focus of the present paper is to highlight the impact and contribution of pragmatism in the field of education.
