This is a review of a book on the developmental aspects of fossil hominins. It focuses attention on the ontogeny of morphological traits that define the hominin physiology and reviews in tandem the information available on the ontogeny of the brain. Few books have addresses these elements of human evolution, especially regarding the existing fossil neonatal and infant as well as remains of children in one monograph.
