This interdisciplinary research paper examines the relationship between architectural design, environmental conditions, and human mental health. The study explores how built environments influence psychological stress, emotional isolation, behavioral response, and suicidal ideation through socio-psychological and neuroarchitectural perspectives. The paper analyzes the psychological effects of overcrowding, poor lighting, environmental noise, lack of greenery, spatial confinement, and socially isolating urban systems. It further investigates how emotionally supportive architectural environments—including therapeutic spaces, biophilic design, natural light, and human-centered planning—can positively contribute to emotional well-being and psychological resilience. The research integrates concepts from: Environmental Psychology Neuroarchitecture Behavioral Architecture urban mental health studies, socio-spatial analysis, therapeutic architectural theory. The study also introduces original conceptual contributions including: “Emotional Architecture,” “Psycho-Architectural Stress,” and the proposed “Architectural Emotional Response Theory (AERT).” Using analytical discussion, comparative environmental interpretation, conceptual modeling, and statistical representation, the paper argues that architecture should be recognized not only as physical infrastructure but also as a significant psychological and emotional influence system. The research concludes that future cities and built environments must evolve toward: human-centered design, emotionally sustainable urban planning, psychologically supportive spatial systems, and therapeutic architectural development in order to support long-term mental well-being and healthier societies.
