Formula Errors in “Exploring the Effects of Rooftop Mitigation Strategies on Urban Temperatures and Energy Consumption” by Zonato et al. (2021)

Abstract This comment identifies and corrects two equation errors in the publication by Zonato et al. (2021, https://doi.org/10.1029/2021jd035002 ): An error is present in the paper in the formula for the radiation heat transfer between planar surfaces. A second error is identified where Zonato et al. (2021, https://doi.org/10.1029/2021jd035002 ) adjust the efficiency of solar panels for temperature erroneously using a minimum function, thus introducing a non‐existent discontinuity in the first derivative of efficiency as a function of temperature.
