Towards a sustainable legislative policy to combat cybercrime

In the absence of a clear trend to confront this category of crimes and their perpetrators, especially in Iraq, which has not yet begun to develop sustainable legislation that guarantees bypassing traditional legal models, especially in facing the new crime that requires, the Iraqi legislator approved the cybercrime law, which is still standing on the shelves, and its adoption in a serious and distinguished form. With accuracy and legal plot, and avoiding loose and broad expressions that carry more than one meaning, which is useless. The importance of the subject is highlighted in light of the legislative crisis in criminal matters, both substantive and procedural, in confronting this crime. Are there difficulties in applying criminal legislative texts to these crimes, as well as the effectiveness of the Iraqi Criminal Procedure Code in confronting electronic crimes? The problem lies in the following question: How effective are the traditional legal mechanisms in the Iraqi penal codes in confronting electronic crimes? Have the crimes that occur on the Internet become a reality that must be lived with in light of the clear legislative deficiency in the criminal codes, both substantive and procedural?
