The Role of the Federal Supreme Court in Guaranteeing Political Rights- Iraq as example

The constitutional judiciary plays an essential role in protecting political rights, because it is considered an essential tool for protecting those rights and works to build the foundations of the democratic state of which it is a part. This institution is considered the most effective tool of the state in protecting and promoting the political rights of individuals, against the legislative and executive authorities and as a result of the procedures that they may exercise. Or taken in their implementation, which may lead to a violation of rights, the constitutional judiciary is able to protect these rights by imposing constitutional oversight on the laws approved by the legislative authority, or by confronting any action taken by the executive authority. If it affects or violates the political rights of individuals, the role of the court is to act as a protector against the oppression of these two authorities.In this research, we present the importance and role of the Federal Supreme Court in protecting political rights on the basis of the powers granted to it by the Constitution
