Abstract

Two archaeological excavations carried out by Thames Valley Archaeological Services in the Loddon Valley, Berkshire produced comparable results and are reported together here. Both sites produced evidence for Middle to Late Bronze Age occupation each in the form of a small cluster of pits likely to represent a small settlement. The chronologies at both sites are supported by radiocarbon dates. Finds other than pottery were very scarce, so the economies of these sites cannot be explored. At Bearwood Park, Sindlesham there were also both early Iron Age gullies that appear to mark a field system and a small cluster of late Roman features that suggests further occupation nearby.
