Addyman Archaeology undertook a Watching Brief at No2 High Street, Jedburgh, in advance of the renovation of the building by the Scottish Borders Council. The building is a Category C Listed Building (LB35558), built in 1866 and lies within the Jedburgh Conservation Area. A Watching Brief was conducted during the ground reduction works and dismantling of walls in the basement. A series of water management features were discovered, most notably, a large field stone holding tank with associated stone lined drains. The basement walls were built against the cut within the natural subsoil.
