Indian legal education is evolving due to the integration of artificial intelligence (AI) and other digital technologies in research, instruction and assessment. This study posits that AI prompts essential inquiries into legal knowledge, authority, interpretation and professional identity within Indian law schools. It examines how AI can enhance the epistemic rigour, ethical judgements and constitutional commitments of legal education. Doctrinal analysis, comparative developments and interdisciplinary scholarship are employed to investigate three interrelated domains: (a) the epistemological transformations of AI-assisted legal research and drafting; (b) ethical and constitutional concerns regarding algorithmic bias, data governance and academic freedom and (c) the implications of these transformations for curriculum design, faculty development and institutional governance in India. The article revealed that AI-driven solutions present innovative opportunities for inclusion through translation, customization and simulation-based learning; nonetheless, deficiencies in digital infrastructure and institutional competency threaten to exacerbate imbalances in Indian legal education. It presents a normative and pedagogical framework that combines doctrinal and practical training to impart AI literacy, digital competence and ethical reasoning. Indian legal education can engage with AI as a transformative yet responsible institution, in accordance with the constitutional principles of justice, dignity and democratic engagement.
