Archaeological monitoring and recording was undertaken by AC archaeology between June and August 2025 at The Church of St Mary, Sheviock, Cornwall (NGR SX 37018 55094). The work was undertaken during groundworks associated with a new retaining wall to the eastern boundary of the graveyard and drainage. The archaeological monitoring and recording of the groundworks exposed 37 grave cuts and 39 skeletal remains of individuals. There was no evidence to indicate that any of the burials pre-dated the late medieval period, and the majority can be dated to the post-medieval period. The burials exposed were of adults, except for one newborn and two children. There was evidence for bone fractures and dental pathologies which are common in skeletons dating to the post-medieval period. A chest tomb belonging to the Lavers family was recorded and found to have two brick-built chambers beneath. The finds assemblage comprised one sherd of late Roman/post Roman amphora, medieval and post-medieval pottery, a shoe buckle, two pieces of post-medieval glass, a piece of clay tobacco-pipe, pieces of ceramic tile and one bone from a bull.
